WHITE BLOOD CELL - Noun: ( Leukocytes) are important parts of the body's immune system . They help to prevent and fight infections. There are three main types of white blood cells: monocytes, granulocytes and Lymphocytes, each with an important role in fighting infections.
This is an actual picture of White Blood Cells, in with some red blood cells. The platelets are stained purple, a T-Lymphocyte white cell is stained green, and a Monocyte white cell is stained gold as seen through a scanning electron microscope.
