PHAGOCYTE - Noun: A white blood cell capable of surrounding, engulfing, and digesting micro-organisms (such as bacteria and viruses), foreign particles that have entered the body (such as dust inhaled into the lungs), and cellular debris. Phagocytes occur in body fluids and tissues. Neutrophils and macrophages are phagocytes.
