MACROPHAGE - Noun: A large cell which has the power to ingest cell debris, foreign material such as carbon in the lungs and bacteria. It is present in connective tissue, especially when there is inflammation. Macrophages work with T-lymphocyte cells and B-Lymphocyte cells to destroy harmful substances that enter the body.
