STROMAL CELLS -
Noun: Cells that form the connective tissue, nerves and vessels that form the frame like support of an organ. The bone marrow cells which make up the home for the stem cells and all their offspring are stromal cells.

Latin - strôma = a spread to lie or sit on (like a blanket)
